After a 13-year hiatus from the studio (and over 16 years with the original lineup), the band returned with a highly anticipated self-titled album. However, this reunion was not a simple nostalgia trip. Recorded in Santiago between December 2002 and April 2003, the album was marked by internal strife and creative tensions between the members. The resulting work is an eclectic mix of styles that captures a band trying to find its place in a new millennium, highlighted by its lead single, "Ultra Derecha".

Tras la abrupta salida de Claudio Narea por conflictos personales, Jorge González tomó las riendas absolutas del proyecto. Junto a Miguel Tapia y con el productor argentino Gustavo Santaolalla a los mandos, grabaron en Los Ángeles (EE. UU.) lo que muchos consideran la obra maestra definitiva del pop en español: Corazones .
