RAPTOR is a flowchart-based programming environment, designed specifically to help students visualize their algorithms and avoid syntactic baggage. RAPTOR programs are created visually and executed visually by tracing the execution through the flowchart. Required syntax is kept to a minimum. Students prefer using flowcharts to express their algorithms, and are more successful creating algorithms using RAPTOR than using a traditional language or writing flowcharts without RAPTOR.
Are you interested in running RAPTOR on Chromebooks, iPads, or just in a browser? Check out the pre-release here!. This is NOT fully tested. Send feedback via
A Multiplatform version of RAPTOR is now available for Windows, Mac and Linux built on top of [Avalonia]! See the downloads section below. Uses fonts from Noto Sans CJK for internationalization. Key differences:

Blue Iris v6 maintains the same perpetual licensing model, though maintenance renewal pricing has been refined:
: By executing directly inside the core application space, the software eliminates network socket loopback delays. This ensures almost instantaneous verification of people, vehicles, and pets.
Better utilization of NVIDIA and Intel QuickSync architectures. 📱 Modernized Web and Mobile Interface
Install CodeProject.AI Server on the same machine (or a local network server).
The architectural changes in v6 translate to tangible performance gains, particularly in how the software manages high-resolution streams. Blue Iris v5 Blue Iris v6 Database Multi-file legacy system Streamlined 2-file rewrite AI Integration Required external software Built-in native support Security External HTTPS tools required Native HTTPS server Install Directory C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5 C:\Program Files\Blue Iris Licensing and Upgrade Path
: If you have an active support and maintenance plan, the upgrade to v6 is typically included as part of your existing subscription.
A total rewrite of the underlying database system ensures better reliability and speed when managing thousands of clips. 2. Key Features and Capabilities
, doubling its previous capacity and catering to larger residential or small-to-medium business installations. Modernizing the Core Architecture
and improved integration for both Intel and Nvidia hardware. Smart Home and Future Roadmap
is recommended to transition to the new simplified file directory structure ( C:\Program Files\Blue Iris
For existing users, the upgrade to v6 is relatively straightforward if they have an active support/maintenance plan. However, a fresh installation
BlueIris v6 addresses these with three pillars: Edge-First Inference , Adaptive Stream Management , and Cluster Orchestration .
Perspective Software typically offers a fair upgrade path. Users with an active plan will likely transition to v6 at no additional cost. For those on older versions, a "Leap Upgrade" fee is usually available, maintaining Blue Iris's reputation as the most cost-effective pro-sumer VMS on the market. Final Thoughts
: The integrated AI handles person, vehicle, and animal detection natively, executing extremely fast on capable GPUs and Intel Integrated Graphics right out of the box.

Did you know RAPTOR has modes? By default, you start in Novice mode. Novice mode has a single global namespace for variables. Intermediate mode allows you to create procedures that have their own scope (introducing the notion of parameter passing and supports recursion). Object-Oriented mode is new (in the Summer 2009 version)
RAPTOR is freely distributed as a service to the CS education community. RAPTOR was originally developed by and for the US Air Force Academy, but its use has spread and RAPTOR is now used for CS education in over 30 countries on at least 4 continents. Martin Carlisle is the primary maintainer, and is a professor at Texas A&M University.
